Ohio Bail Bond Pricing — How the 10% Premium Works
Ohio Revised Code requires all licensed bail bondsmen to charge a non-refundable premium equal to 10% of the bond amount. This fee is set by state law — it is not negotiable, and any bondsman offering a flat rate or discount below 10% is violating Ohio law.
A $5,000 bond costs $500. A $10,000 bond costs $1,000. A $25,000 bond costs $2,500. The premium is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the case — this is required by Ohio law, not Choice Bonding policy.
We know 10% can still be a lot of money when you're not expecting it. Choice Bonding offers flexible payment plans on bonds of $1,000 and up. Most clients put down 25–50% up front and pay the rest over 30–90 days. We also accept co-signers. Call 380-254-9278 to talk options.
What You Need to Know Before You Call
Before you call, it helps to have a few things ready. 1) The defendant's full name and date of birth. 2) Which jail they're being held at (usually Multi-County Correctional Center for Marion County). 3) The total bond amount (the magistrate sets this at arraignment). 4) A valid government-issued ID for the person signing. Call 380-254-9278 any time — day or night.
